A movie filmed in Ely appears to be headed to the big screen.
Erin Miller announced last week that the film “If I Tell You” will be in theaters this August nationwide.
“ Variety said it so it’s official,” Miller posted online.
“Thank you to my producing partner and muse Jennifer Manocherian, a rock from so many years of carrying this film uphill like water in our hands. Deep gratitude to Tessa Blake who poured herself into the creative vision and execution of the film.
“While most people who work on an independent film spend several months on a film, producers serve the film and nurture it for many years before and after. This is a film I have been happy to serve with my signature tenacity and belief.
The film premiered in Ely and was originally known as “Boundary Waters” before changing to its current title.
“To the countless people of Ely, Duluth, and Virginia MN, thank you! We’re coming back to share it with you in theaters!” wrote Miller.
She said it will show in Ely for a week leading up to the national campaign.
