The Northeast Range girls volleyball team is still finding their footing.
“We are starting our season growing and learning each game with a new group of girls, a new setter and some younger players,” said head coach Misty Roseth.
“I have seen so much improvement with the freshman and sophomores each game. We are 0-4, but not without a fight. Lost to Southridge in three, MIB in three, who we put up a fight against losing the third set 23-25 and went five and lost by two to both to LF/BF and then McGregor. They fought till the end in both games. We played the Greenway tournament and played excellent against Northwoods and took them to three, lost our setter a few sets in-between, and lost to Mesabi East and Northwoods, beat LF/BF in three sets, then lost to N-K. This team has our ups and downs but the potential is there and the growth is undeniable.”
The tournament win over Littlefork went to 2-1 with scores of 26-24, 17-25 and 15-10.
In the McGregor loss, it went to five with scores of 22-25, 25-21, 24-26, 25-14 and 13-15.
Stats: Miranda Mackai- 38 set assists, and 100% serving 17-17.
Peyson Roseth- Consistent serving with four ace serves, 11 kills Breauna Warren-freshman-four ace serves, three kills Kaydence Hancock-senior- 11 kills, six ace serves Jayden Gorecki-freshman-three ace serves, Bridgett Stern, sophomore, with two kills.
“Consistency is key. Once we nail this down and continue getting our groove together and communicating as team, I see a great future for these ladies!” said Roseth.
