Two Ely Memorial High School students, Esther Anderson, in poetry and Leo Stalmer, in prose, represented Ely at the state speech meet.
Head coach Donna Kari said, “Esther Anderson and Leo Stalmer spoke well in their rounds and their scores reflected that, but neither broke into the top eight speakers for final round. They certainly ended their senior year in speech in a great way.
“This is my final year as head speech coach and ending it at the state meet with these two students is a real privilege.”
