I’m not sure if Smoke is just rearranging his fur coat or itching a friendly spot because he certainly does not have any ticks or fleas, he takes a pill to prevent such canine travails. Smoke is a dog I really like, first he’s not a barker, and he never jumps up on anyone. In my opinion Smoke is very well behaved, he don’t beg at my knee during a meal, never a drop of slobber, he has not shed a single hair on me once.
Smoke lounges sorta downrange, never piles up on their couch or the chair I prefer. Smoke also is the perfect name for him, his coat swirls grays and edgy darkness with softer white ash undertones, yup, Smoke looks like smoke, especially when he’s covering cover.
Smoke has more awards ribbons trophies and plaques then a 10-star general, and like many a general, he is now retired from field trials, but not hunting with the family, Smoke is seven years old in man years, still well in his prime.
And Smoke, just got a playmate, or that’s what the pup thinks, Smoke is to tutor, to Flops, a fresh from a spring kennel; of new setter pups, flops ain’t like Smoke yet, Flops is everywhere at once, and everything about Smoke I appreciate, Flops is the opposite, and flops for a name, leaves me wondering, but hopefully Smokes will and way will settle in quicker than later, Flops is exhausting to me, and sometimes I think Smoke needs a break from him too.
