I get accused of many things, for instance, you’re never home, your always outside, all you ever talk about is the outdoors or something about the outdoors, and one I especially like, is, when I’m told, I seem to be having more fun than anyone else in the township. Now all the accusations, at least the good ones are rooted in some truth, but at the same time, choosing just one, I certainly think I have fun, but at the same time, I don’t think I’m having any more fun than anyone else.
Two of my pals, can’t wait to retire, they tell me often, every day for me must be Saturday. I like that of course, but since I retired, I honestly don’t know how I ever had time for a full-time job. I’m busier now than ever, but they think, I’m just goofing off day after day at anything I want, and well, some of that’s not a lie, but not as much as I’d like either.
And don’t quote me on this, but I think it was Vincent Price who once said, “A person who limits their interests, limits their life,” or something close to that effect, and that is entirely true of me. I have my mind in several things, my fingers in many more, and if I listed them all, you may very well think, all that, not possible, can’t be, ain’t enough human in one human to be doing all that, all the time. Trust me when I tell you, I’m getting up there in lived years, but every year thankfully I’m not slowing down, I’m picking up speed. So stop by some time, who knows, maybe you’ll acquire one of my habitual habits, and we’ll spend some time together, seeing firsthand, how much fun I am having, or I ain’t.
