Forest Service developed and rustic campgrounds are transitioning to seasonal closures. Dispersed and backcountry camping, as well as boat ramps, trails, and certain restrooms will remain open. Gates at recreation sites will be locked until spring.
During seasonal closures, campgrounds will have no services such as garbage, recycling, water, or power. Sites with no fees or services are on a first-come, first-served basis.
Seasonal changes to campgrounds occurring in September and October include:
Gunflint Ranger District Devils Track Lake, East Bearskin Lake, Flour Lake, Iron Lake, Kimball Lake, Trails End and Two Island Lake remain open through October 18 with fees.
Kawishiwi Ranger District Fenske Lake and South Kawishiwi Lake Campgrounds remain open in October with no fees and no services.
Fall Lake and Birch Lake Campground’s gates close on October 1.
LaCroix Ranger District Echo Lake and Jeanette Lake Campgrounds transition to no fees and no services on Oct. 1. The gate closes on October 26.
Laurentian Ranger District Pfeiffer Lake Campground transitions to no fees and no services on Oct. 1. The gate closes on Oct. 26.
Cadotte Lake Campground is gated and closed for the season.
Whiteface Lake Campground Loops 1-2 gate is closed, and Loops 3-4 gate closes on October 1.
Tofte Ranger District
Crescent, Sawbill and Temperance River Campgrounds remain open through Oct. 18 with fees.
Little Isabella, McDougal, Divide, and Ninemile Campgrounds transition to no fees and no services on Oct. 1.
