The Northeast Range high school volleyball team had a very busy week.
On Sept. 29 the team went to International Falls and played the Broncos and lost in three, 16-25, 17-25, 20-25.
“It was nice to see the score keep going up each game but couldn’t finish on top tonight. The potential is there. Poor serving tonight unfortunately. We have players growing each game, which is great to see,” said head coach Misty Roseth.
“Miranda Mackai-15 digs, 11 set assists; Peyson Roseth- seven kills, seven digs; Breauna Warren who is really stepping up and two kills and one block; Kaydence Hancock had five kills; Bridgett Stern consistently hitting the ball tonight looking really strong; Chloe Janeksela had one ace and six digs.
“We’re looking to focus in on that offense and get more girls hitting the ball consistently, when they can do that, they are on fire.”
Northeast Range was set to face North Woods last night.
“We came so close to beating them in a tournament, going three sets. It will be a great game.”
On Sept. 26 the Nighthawks participated in a tournament at Rock Ridge.
“We had a decent day at the Rock Ridge tournament. There were six total teams with us, Rock Ridge, Cromwell, MIB, Deer River and South Ridge. We ended up in the third place pool up against Deer River and beat them.
“It was a great day to switch up some lineups and test the waters a little. We started off slow! But ended the day with a win.”
Northeast Range fell to MIB to start the day, 7-25, 19-25. South Ridge also won in two, but there were closer sets, 24-26 and 23-25.
