Northeast Range seniors Kaydence Hancock and Chloe Janeksela were recognized on Tuesday.

The Northeast Range girls volleyball team won in three against Duluth Marshall on Tuesday and celebrated seniors Kaydence Hancock and Chloe Janeksela.

On Monday, the state-ranked Ely Timberwolves came to Babbitt and pulled off a 25-14, 25-17 and 25-5 win.

The Wolves had a slight hiccup in the second set of Monday night’s game at Northeast Range, but otherwise the contest wasn’t much of one.

Ely swept, but the pesky Nighthawks got out to a 9-2 lead in the second set.

Things changed after an Ely time out and the Wolves outscored the Nighthawks 23-8 for the remainder of the set and by a whopping 48-13 for the rest of the evening.

The Lady Nighthawks traveled to Northland/Hill City on Thursday and then will participate in an allday tournament at Mesabi East on Saturday.

On Oct. 1, NER lost to North Woods at home.

“We came out with a bang ready to play. They played hard and lost the first set 25-27, then from there we slipped and kind of fell apart and couldn’t get an offense going.

Lost 16-25, then 14-25,” said head coach Misty Roseth. “We had a great serving night and Kaydence and Peyson Roseth each had five kills.
