Service June 6 for Delores Bulinksi

Dolores P. Bulinski, 86, of Ely, died peacefully on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, just before a magnificent sunset at her home overlooking Shagawa Lake in Ely, Minnesota, in the presence of her loving family and devoted caregivers.
Born in Chicago in 1928, she met Emery, the love of her life and husband of 67 years, after World War II, while working as a soda jerk at a corner drug store on Chicago’s near north side.
On one of the many adventures of her life, she and Emery left Chicago behind in 1956, when they purchased Snowbank Lodge, the first of a number of resorts and other businesses they purchased and developed in the Ely area. Dolores trained dozens of then-called “cabin girls” on the art of making beds and cleaning cabins, baked a mean blueberry pie and, despite her diminutive stature, managed the hard-drinking men on Emery’s work crews with an iron fist.
