Margaret “Jackie” McDonald
“Gramma Jackie” as she was affectionately known to many, was born in Grand Rapids MN on August 3rd 1934 to William and Delma (Billedeau) Joy.
Jackie was the youngest of 13 children and raised in Marble MN.
After graduating from Greenway High School in 1952, she met Bernard (Mac) McDonald and soon after, they were married at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marble MN on June 6th 1953. Their son Bryan was born in 1957. Jackie worked at the Hibbing General Hospital until 1965. She and Mac moved to Babbitt MN where she then started working at the Ely Bloomenson Hospital in the Physical Therapy Department retiring in 1999. After Mac’s passing in 2005, Jackie movedtoHibbingwhereherAndroy Apartment became “home”.
Jackie is survived by her son Bryan and daughter in law Kim of Britt MN, grandson Dylan of Bloomington MN, grandson Micah (Ashley Corneiller), great grandchildren Charlie Ann and Max McDonald of Forest Lake, foster son Walter “Buddy” Knapp of Hermantown MNandnumerousniecesand nephews and many dear friends who she considered family as well.
Family and friends were the most important thing in her life.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, 6 brothers and 6 sisters and her husband Mac. The family would like to thank all of the wonderful staff at Fairview Clinic and Hospital, Serving Hart Assisted Living and Heritage Manor Nursing Home.
Family arrangements have been entrusted to Dougherty Funeral home in Hibbing MN.
Burial at Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing MN will be held at a later date.
