Sandra Lee Sundeen, 84

Sandra was born in Duluth, MN on July 4, 1940, and was the only child of Melvin E. and Lillian R. (Chelstrom) Sundeen.

Sandra was raised in Duluth, MN, where she attended Denfeld High School and UMD.

Sandra moved to Ely, MN in 1975 and raised her three daughters, Julie A. (Otos) Paul, Stacy E. (Otos) Leonetti, and Jennifer L. (Huchel) Kans. Sandra enjoyed spending time with family and friends and loved Ely’s natural beauty. Sandra worked for many years at Ely Bloomenson Hospital, where she made lifelong friends. Sandra’s final few months were spent receiving exceptional care at Boundary Waters Care Center.

Sandra is survived by her daughters, Stacy Leonetti (Matthew) Champlin, MN; Jennifer Kans (Douglas) Victoria, MN; six grandchildren, Micah, Kylee, and Paul Leonetti; Naomi, Phoebe and Luke Kans; three great grandchildren, as well as her “adopted” sister, Louise Kainz.

To further the cause of medicine, Sandra donated her body to the University of Minnesota Medical School.

SERVICES: Sandra requested that there be no formal funeral. Sandra loved the Lord and knew Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. To best honor her memory, seek the Lord and serve Him with all your heart. John 3:16.
