Victor E “Chip” Veranth

Victor E “Chip” Veranth, (76), formerly of Ely passed away on June 29, 2025 in Gatlinburg, TN.

He was born in Duluth, MN on August 18, 1948 to Vic and Jane Veranth. He graduated from Ely High School in 1966, attended Vermilion State Community College and graduated from UMD in Duluth in 1970. After college Vic moved to Florida where he met and married the love of his life Debi (Kezar) on May 20, 1973 The two made their home near Tampa. Vic retired in 2001 and they moved to their new home in Gatlinburg, TN in 2010. He completely gutted and renovate that home in which they lived until his death.

His working career began as a manager in a department store in Cocoa Beach, Fl where he and his wife first met. He also sold life insurance for a time then designed and sold commercial kitchens. He ended his working career investing in real estate and owning rental properties.

Vic’s favorite pastimes were carpentry, photography, snow skiing, water skiing, wherein he learned to barefoot, and SCUBA diving. He was also a licensed pilot. He was precede in dearth by his parents and infant brother Leonard Charles and is survived by his brother and sister-in-law Ed and Nancy (Duel) Veranth of Colorado Springs, CO, sister and brother-in-law Sally and Dave Weddel of Zimmerman, MN and niece Stacy Welch (Beel) of Elk River, MN.

Interment and services will be held at Highland Memory Gardens in Apopka, FL.
