1.0 The regular meeting of the School Board of Independent School District No. 696 was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Chairman Marsnik.
2.0 On roll call the following directors were present: Kellerman, Marsnik, Pengal, Richter, Sjoberg, Udovich. Absent: None. Also present: Alexis Leitgeb, Superintendent; Keith Vandervort, Ely Timberjay; and Kelly Klun, district’s legal counsel.

CARTWAY HEARING

ORDER SETTING A JANUARY 26, 2015 HEARING UPON PETITION REQUESTING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A CARTWAY

The Town of Morse has received a Petition for the Establishment of a Cartway from Arthur and Patricia Richter.

The Petition seeks to establish a cartway, pursuant to Minnesota Statute § 164.08, on the existing roadway commonly known as Hanson Road and extending from County Road 116 commonly known as Echo Trail, until such point at which the cartway reaches Petitioners’ property.

Minnesota Statute § 164.08, subdivision 2(a), requires a town board to establish a cartway at least two rods wide connecting a petitioner’s land to a public road if a petition is presented by the owner of a tract of land containing at least five acres who has no access thereto except over lands of others.

2.0     On roll call the following directors were present: Kellerman, Marsnik, Pengal, Richter, Sjoberg, Udovich. Absent: None. Also present: Alexis Leitgeb, Superintendent; Keith Vandervort, Ely Timberjay; and Kelly Klun, district’s legal counsel.

Chairman Marsnik asked the board to recognize Seth Prigge and Teddy Pierce for their accomplishments at the state cross country competition. A letter of recognition will be sent.

Street Improvements

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Winton will hold a public hearing on November 17, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. at the Winton City Hall, 341 N. Main Street, Community Church, to consider the proposed Street Improvement project.
This public hearing will be held to allow the public to voice their concerns and support for the proposed improvements. The City of Winton is seeking financial assistance from the St. Louis County Community Development Block Grant Program and the Iron Range Resources Rehabilitation Board to implement the proposed project.

Proposed project information will be available at the public hearing. All persons desiring to be heard with reference to the proposed improvements may be heard at this meeting.
